iPhone Photographs

I think it was Jay Maisel who said that the best camera is the one you have with you. On a recent trip to London and Liverpool, I decided to take only my iPhone in order to force me to see what I could come up with. I took jpeg and raw files to see how they held up during post processing in Lightroom and Photoshop. I will let you be the judge except to say that aside from scenes that would benefit from telephoto optics, the phone did very well, reinforcing the adage, “It’s not the camera, it’s the camera man.” I will also say that for the serious photographer, the newer phones that are capable of producing raw files would be superior though I must also say that jpegs, with minimal processing, do quite well also.
